Videos and Short Films

The HYYH Prologue, or the Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Prologue, was a 2015 short film promoting the release of BTS's album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1. It served as a sequel to the events of the music video I NEED U from the album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1. In the video, the seven boys decide to meet up again after SeokJin comes back home from his two years in the US, and visit the beach that they went to together when they were students.

I NEED U is the title track of BTS's 2015 album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1. This video was first music video that focused specifically on the HYYH (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life) era since they had just transitioned out of their school trilogy (also part of the Bangtan Universe, but came before the HYYH era). I NEED U played a huge role in painting the story of each of the boys, it was also one of the only music videos that filmed their individual life and not their life while they were with each other.

RUN is the title track of BTS's 2016 album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2. RUN showed the friendship of the boys after SeokJin came back from the US (similarly to the HYYH Prologue) and how they had fun together despite their own hardships seen in I NEED U. It also highlighted the friendships between NamJoon & TaeHyung, JiMin & HoSeok, and YoonGi & JungKook (those friendships will be important in the future).

The music video of Young Forever was released before the official release of BTS's album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever on April 19, 2016. It shows some of the scenes from both I NEED U and RUN (TaeHyung jumping in the water, the burning flower petals) as well as some newly shot scenes in a maze and on an airport runway.

The Wings Short Films were seven films assigned to each of the boys. Each video was titled the name of the solo songs that were released on BTS's album Wings. One was released on each day in a certain week in the month of September in 2016. These films captured each of the boys' individual lives following the events of I NEED U and RUN (when they all started to become distant with one another). Wings was also a new era since the HYYH trilogy had terminated (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Part 1, Part 2, and Young Forever.

Following the events of the seven Wings short films and the Wings era was the 'Love Yourself' era consisting of three albums, Love Yourself: Her, Love Yourself: Tear, and Love Yourself: Answer. Euphoria was a solo song sung by member Jungkook. The music video covers their reunion after the events of Wings, when JiMin ends up trapped in the hospital (his mother insisted for him to spend the rest of his life there due to his frequent seizures) and the others band together to break him out.

Since the boys had just reunited, they weren't really good friends and already had their own paths to walk. They didn't hang out with each other that much anymore since they were caught up in their own lives. The Love Yourself Highlight Reel is a short film that shows how each of the boys are trying to improve themselves and move on from their own friend group as each of them finds a love interest. Although some of the boys like JiMin and HoSeok still hang out together, most of them have gone their separate ways and grown up from their high school selves.
